About Oregon
In the early 1800’s thousands of pioneers flooded to Oregon in search of opportunities and a better life. They put there belongings in the famous covered wagons and headed for the lush farmland in the Willamette Valley. While living in Oregon they also found gold in the Rogue River, forests to use for lumber and Salmon in the Columbia River. Now Oregon is known for the beaches, skiing resorts, and the beautiful cities. Also in Oregon are many micro brews that offer some of the best beer and wine. Portland is the rainiest city on the west coast, which offers many indoor activities to do throughout the winter. Jazz clubs, pub service, theaters, and Skidmore Fountain at Waterfront Park are some of the endless activities in Oregon. Tillamook Valley on the Oregon coast of Oregon produces cheese and other great products. Another great attraction in Oregon is the famous Crater Lake and Hells Canyon. Crater Lake was created after Mount Mazama exploded. In the cascades there are many great skiing resorts including Ski Bowl, Meadows, and Timberline Lodge (even open during the summer on the Palmer Glacier). Alternatively, for a little bit of a drive enjoy the great Mt. Bachelor in Bend Oregon. The Oregon Coast offer various detinations including the beaches of Lincoln City, Seaside, and Cannon beach.
